CornerPubBar

From the owners:

We would like to start with a gigantic THANK YOU to all of our friends, family and customers who have made this adventure possible.  I, Shannon, worked at the Cubby Hole for just over 13 years on Federal Highway.  While tending bar there I acquired quite a few good friends and exceptionally great customers who patronized my bar for years.  I worked for an excellent employer and friend, John Hitchcock.  I learned a great deal while working at the hole.  I had a good deal of experience already having worked for other bars such as the iBeam, Gold Coast and Moby Dick.  I also have years of  experience in food service going as far back to junior high all the way up to Chart House and Charley’s Crab.  I never really saw myself working for someone my entire life.  I had a goal to own a bar or restaurant.  This past April an opportunity arose to purchase both, a bar and a restaurant.

Anthony, my super duper husband, has worked as a flight attendant for Spirit Airlines for over eleven years now.  He has worked in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Alaska, Washington State and D.C., Hawaii and South Carolina.  Needless to say, he loves to travel as much as I do.  He too never saw himself working for someone for his entire life.

After some serious debate and discussion, we took a deep breath and dove in.  We realize it is not going to be easy, but from opening night to the Grand Opening weekend, we have had nothing but great turnouts and response to our taking over the old Corner Pub.  Now, over four months into being open I have time to write a little about us and what we plan to do.

Please, stop in our bar, come by the restaurant, say hello and let us know what you think.  Our idea of a Pub is a clean, relaxed atmosphere that you can have a great deal of fun without making your wallet cry.  It is where everyone is welcome and feels comfortable.

We’ve come a long way in the past few months, but it is nothing compared to what we have in store.  Big steps and baby steps.  All in due time.  Good things take time.  Give back.  These are a few phrases we tell ourselves everyday.  We get through some highly stressful days with these thoughts.  We have already had fundraisers for Tuesday’s Angels, SmartRide7 team 995 (Broward House), donated to The Pantry and two little league teams.  We will have a Toys-for-Tots drive every year.

We need to give a very special THANK YOU to Ed Meyer, my Mom and my Dad and also to Anthony’s parents, without their support (they know what we mean) we definitely could not have done this without them.  Thank you for having the faith in us when the banks didn’t.  We love you with all our hearts.
